Hello! I am getting ready to go to Phoenix pride this week! Thought I would update before I go.

This one is special. It's my exclusive anime edition. Telling you about some of the new series of the spring season. With some insight of ones that are on my list, and expectations of yet to premier one's.

Alright. First Up, we have K-on!
Series Information

Genre: Comedy, Slice-of-Life, Light Hearted

OP: 「Cagayake! GIRLS」 by Sakura High Light Music Club (Toyosaki Aki, Hikasa Yoko, Satou Satomi, and Kotobuki Minako)

ED: 「Don’t say “lazy”」 by Sakura High Light Music Club (Toyosaki Aki, Hikasa Yoko, Satou Satomi, and Kotobuki Minako)

Production: Kyoto Animatio

So far I am keeping up with this anime and enjoying it very much so. The story takes place in an all girls school. Two of the ninth grade girls: Mitsu and Mio are trying to join the "Light Music club." But right after they come to find out that all of the club members have already graduated; therefor the club will be disbanded unless they can get two other members to join.

There has only been two episodes so far. But I could say without hesitation, if you liked "The Malencholy of Haruhi Suzumia" and "Lucky Star" Then you will truly enjoy this. It's corcky, and filled with "Moe" moments. Although... In the first Episode Yui [The Main Character] is portrayed more... as a dimwitted character as a pose to "Moe".

Either way. I strongly recommend anyone who likes cute anime to check this out.

2. Valkyria Chronicles.

Series Information

Genre: Science Fiction, strategy, rpg

I could honestly say that I was not expecting an anime such as this for spring; in a good way =)

From what I hear, it's based off of a RPG video game. I am usually not one for post war, or pre-war anime. But this one has caught my eye, and I think I will stick with it. The basic story:

The anime starts in a small village. They are preparing for a war with the noblemen. Seems they have to protect their land from being taken over. While one of the soldiers is on watch. they mistakenly suspect a man of being a spy. It turns out he is a decedent from a very important man in the village. He and his sister end up aiding the soldiers.

That's actually a synopsis of the first episode lol. But I urge anyone who likes battle and strategy types of anime to give this one a shot. It seems promising.

3. Natsu no Arashi!
Series Information

Genre: Science fiction, shonen, spiritual

Another interesting anime for spring. [They are really creative this season~]

It's from the artist that brought us the light hearted comedy "School Rumble." The story Synopsis:
A young boy meets a High School girl at an old fashioned Japanese coffee house. It turns out that shes a ghost. From then on, an unforgettable summer begins.
So far only one episode is out. [currently waiting for episode two. I found it to be funny. If you like ghost's, time traveling and humor, then this might just be your niche~

4. FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD.

Series Information

Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy

Production: BONES

Alright, so Bones decided to revisit two of our favorite Alchemist Brothers and revamp them! The new FullMetal Alchemist is now redone so it may fallow the mangaka more closely. I believe that new and old fans of the series will be enjoying this to the fullest.
I recommend basically anyone to watch this. Unless you do not like heavy drama back story.

5. Tears to Tiara

Series Information

Genre: Adventure, rpg, action, drama

Op:「Free and Dream」 by Suara

ED: 「Blue sky, True sky」 by Aira Yuhki

Production: Aquaplus.

So far Tears to Tiara is a classic rpg adventure type of anime. There is a male protagonist with sword in hand going to save the maiden about to be sacrificed to the demon king. But that's all in one episode. From what I hear the demon king is going to be a protagonist as well. So that sounds like a good twist so it does not fall into a cliche. Honestly, I don't know what to expect from this series as of yet. With only one episode out and a second one on the way there is still much that could happen. Mainly because only three of the cast is in it so far [which there is going to be a giant cast] Also with 26 episodes to work with, I have some high expectations.

I only recommend this to RPG and adventure otaku. This does not look like it will have too much comedy. More of a deep story type. And finally an anime with a somewhat even balance of males and females!! [I hope] =D

6. Tayutama -Kiss on my Deity

Series Information

Genre: High school life, spiritual, Moe, bishojou, ecchi, Science Fiction

Production: Silver Link

What seems to be one of those "Harem" Anime's where all the girls want the same guy, and one is saying they are to merry soon... but with spirits!! Anywho: A construction company is trying to destroy an old grave which has a family's Deity sealed within. The deity protects the land from evil spirits and demons, but when the "Hero" of the story tries to preform an exorcise of the grave, an accident occurs; thus destroying the grave and unleashing a fearsome evil onto the land; but it also releases an incarnate of the Deity. She wields a giant hammer and claims that she was born to take down the evil spirits and keep the lands peace. But with one odd thing... she has fox ears and a tail. With a few other things happening, she claims to love the hero for taking her into his home, and demands that they be married as soon as possible.

I only recommend this anime to those that love the whole "Harem", comedy, cute girl that's a hero type of anime. I am hoping the story gets deeper... but some how I doubt that.

7. Shangri-La

Series Information

Genre: Science Fiction, Drama, action

ED: 「Hajimari no Asa ni Hikari Are.」 by midori

Production: GONZO

Ok, so it's late in the 21st century. Japan has become a tropical island. the degrees have changed dramatically, and the living environment has become somewhat crazy. People must adapt. Now there is a tax on CO2; due to people putting too much of it out there, so now the gov. must keep it under control. They also want to force the civilians out. Now when the new Tokyo is threatened by the gov. It's up to a young girl who is said to lead an anti gov. group one day to defend her home town... Right after getting released from a detention center... [Damn!!]

But it's from the artists of "The Last Exile" I would recommend this to new comers to anime as well as Range Murata fans. This anime seems to be promising so far and is a good catch also for fans that like the whole new "world is crazy due to global warming etc." Theme.

8. PandoraHearts

Series Information

Genre: Science Fiction, Mystery, fantasy, drama

OP: 「Parallel Hearts」 by FictionJunction

ED: 「Maze」 by savage genius

I didn't really know if I was actually going to give this anime a try or not. But I kept looking at the promotional pictures... and the fashion actually got me to watch it. This series is semi confusing to me. But it is intreresting. From what I gather by watching the first episode, and reading the synopsis here is a basic inkling:
The main Character Oz is a son of a duke. He lives a life of leisure. The day before his 15th birthday, he stumbles upon a grave under a courtyard. While observing the grave, he finds a broken pocket watch that plays a peculiar tune. Soon after hearing the melody, Has a strange vision. On the eve of his birthday he is about to be an adult, but while he pledges his oath on the clock that has not worked in 100 years; it suddenly begins to chime. Now an unknown organization is after him. On top of that, a stange girl that may take the form of a giant rabbit claims him as her property.

Hmmm... I don't know who to recommend this to. I would say to people who like a semi victorian looking anime. Also fantasy and mystery lovers... I find it to have a sense of mystery to it.

9. Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom

Series Information

Genre: Action, Mystery, drama, assassin

Op: 「Karma」 by KOKIA

ED:「Gates of Hell」 by ALI PROJECT

Production: Nitro+/ Bee Train

Now, I was actually waiting for this one! There was a 4 episode OVA a few years back; which did it no justice! They had left out about 4 key characters and many details. Now that the anime is back [Hopefully more then 4 episodes this time] with most of the characters and revampped art; I have a higher hope for this~
The basic story: The main character Zwei, wakes up in some abandoned building out in the middle of no where. He is surprised when a girl named Ein attacks him and says "If you don't want to die you must fight" He can't remember anything, who he is, where he comes from, etc. Later he comes to find that his memories where erased, and he is now in training to become an assassin and tool to unite the underground mobs. No matter how he looks at; it's kill or be killed.
There is more story to it, but that would ruin some of it~ I recommend this anime to action lovers who also like a good story, it has a good mystery to it; With beautiful artwork.

10. 07-Ghost

Series Information

Genres: Action, drama, fantasy

One of the many, many manga adaptations. But I am interested. I had many second thoughts. I am not really one for military and church anime... But I must say I am enjoying it so far.

Synopsis: Teito Klein is one of the top students at a very prestigous military akadomy. He has no memories of his past [like many anime characters] And is about to graduate. Recently, he has had strange dreams of a man, and a younger version of himself. Later one of the higher up's in the military comes by for some business and to view the cedets. When Teito approaches the man known as Ayanami; a memory suddenly returns in which the man had killed his father. Taken over by a rage he tries to kill Ayanami. Now as a convict he flee's the acadomy and is found by people of the church.

Again, I recommend this to mystery lovers~

11. Eden of the East
Series Information

But just when she is in front of the White House, Washington DC, she gets into trouble, and only the unexpected intervention of one of her fellow countrymen saves her. However, this man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, is a complete mystery. He appears to have lost his memory. and he is stark naked, except for the gun he holds in one hand, and the mobile phone he’s holding withthe other hand. A phone that is charged with 8,200,000,000 yen in digital cash

This is from the artist that brought you Honey and Clover. I will admit I never watched that, but I became intrested once I saw the art. [As I do with most animes] I highly reccomend this anime to most of everyone. It looks like it has great potential to be something deep. I have seen episode one... and I'm already hooked!!

12. Queens Blade

Series Information

Genres: Action, adventure, comedy, ecchi, oppai

OP:「Get the door」by Oohashi Rie

ED:「Omoide to Yakusoku」by Kawasumi, Ayako, Noto Mamiko, Hirano Aya

Production: ARMS

Synopsis: A competition to decide the next Queen. The strongest warrior will rule the country and expand it. The contestants need to be older than 12. They need not be human, intelligent or even of that country. The rules for the tournament: murder is allowed. Any weapon can be chosen.

For Otaku who are hungry to feed their fanservice needs and nothing more, here is the perfect solution! Some of the character designs are out there. And the fanservice seems to be more important then the actual story. But around episode 2 it tones down some more. It seems to have more story with certain characters. I am not expecting much from this because it was created from pin up card books and figures. But this is on my guilty pleasure list lol.

13. Hanasakuru Seishounen

Series Information

Genres: Romance, reverse Harem

OP:「Change」by J-Min

ED:「One」by J-Min

Production: Studio Perriot

Synopsis: A very powerful industrialist directs his daughter to pick a husband from three candidates he have chosen for her. They are to come into her life, and their uniqueness would cause her to recognize them immediately. The story evolves alone the lines of a power political mystery involving a small middle eastern country.

A reverse Harem anime [one of the few] It seems quite. And the girl can actually do stuff for herself! I like to watch stuff like this every now and then. I would reccomend this to the otaku that love the whole group of men compeating for one womans heart theme.

Whoo!! We made it to the end of the watch list!! Now lets just put some upcoming anime up and finish up!

There is a number of anime still yet to be released that I have a good feeling about. Thease are the ones I am waiting for.

1. Hatsukoi Gentei-Limited.
Synopsis:The manga depicted many vignettes in the everyday lives of a junior high school girl named Ayumi and seven other junior high and high school girls

After a horrible failed attempt at Ichigo 100%. I hear that this one is supposed to fallow the creators manga more closly. I am hoping. The art looks so cute~.

It just premierd, but I still need to watch it.

2. Spice & Wolf II and Amber Malancholy.

I just finished watching the first season of Spice & Wolf; I actually really liked it. What I am hoping to see now that there is going to be a second season. Is that Horo makes it to her home finally. Maybe introduce some characters that are her friends?? Since malancholy is in the title, I presume that Lawrence and Horo might part??

3. DOGS/BULLETS & CARNAGE

This is going to be an adaptation from a manga. I will admit, I never read the manga. But it looks like it might be a promising OVA.

4. Fight Ippatsu! Juuden-chan!!
Another ecchi anime adaptation from a manga. From the creator that brought us Mahoromatic the atoumatic maiden. Just on that fact alone I am going to watch it.

5. Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Synopis I found: takes place in the year 1986, during the time frame of October 4 and October 5 on a secluded island named Rokkenjima. The head of a wealthy family named Kinzo Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eight of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzo’s assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are three family members who live there, five of Kinzo’s servants, and his personal physician. After the eight family members arrive, a typhoon traps them on the island and shortly after people start to get mysteriously murdered.

A murdure mystery anime! I am happy to see one come up for the summer season. It looks like a Higarashi Spin off.
The art looks awesome and it sounds simple and awesome. I am looking forward to it.

Ok, so... a lot has happened in the last two months~

First and for most, I got a job!! Here I thought I would be fucked, but I some how got it.

Then all the interwebzez.

I Watched Dexter Season's 1-3.

I have to say, it is an interesting series. I never had a concept that a serial killer would be working on the inside. But his story makes you not want him dead; but in fact the opposite lol. I recommend it for anyone who wants a completely new spin on questioning sanity and where one comes from.

Speaking of interesting, I found some amazing (some creepy interesting) Vocaloid Video's. Check it.

With a giant amount of childish antics from students who will be in college in less then 2 years and much, much love rectangles; its a good series. I actually really like it. Maybe it's because I stopped watching all my teen drama t.v before I got to 10'th grade until now and I'm catching up lol.

In music news: Well not really news as much as its more just me talking about what I have found and upcoming concerts.

So, I found that Lady Gaga almost has enough of unreleased track's to make a whole other album. So being an obsessive fan as I am; I totally tracked down a good portion of them (after much searching lol)

Also, this Friday I am getting my tickets to go see Paramore and No Doubt!! I am so excited, two of my most favorite bands touring together~~

I have been waiting for a concert like this for a while now~~

Summing Up December

Last month was not as cool as I thought it would be. Or I should say, last year (yay for 09!). Not so much happened, as I worked my arse off and was wondering if I could afford the new school semester. But I was glad when it snowed for one day! It is rare that my city should get snow this good two years in a row.

Then I grew even happier when I went to go see the Medic Droid perform live!

Then Christmas came around, it was a joyous occasion! My uncles where in town from Palm Springs. We all celebrated at my grandfathers house. (which was really warm (=^.^=))

New Years Eve was also a treat for me, as my 2nd sister finally moved back from Michigan after gaining credits for her photography degree!

The new year this year was cute. We where all at my grandfathers again and right before the new year we set of fireworks. After, we all gathered around and watched the ball drop. I was sooo sleepy after that (=-.-=) But I still sent my new years text out and called a few people.

That was about it.

I should start updating on a regular schedule this week. I hope everyone is enjoying the the new year!
